Watch It Wednesday: Stampin’Up! Paper Stacks

The Stampin’Up! Designer Series Paper in the 2017-2018 annual Catalog is spectacular. Check out this video highlighting a couple of the new papers and then read on for a super sweet card I made using the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack

Stampin'Up! You're Delighful Host stamp set, Wood textures designer series paper stack, clean and simple, CAS, handstamped, DIY, papercrafts

Details:

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock and measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, the top panel is Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4″, and the Wood Textures Paper is 4 1/2 x 2 1/4″
  • To add a little color to the Wood Textures Paper I grabbed my Pool Party Stampin’ Pad and the Sponge Brayer. I did ink up my pad with my refill so that it made the color transfer a little easier.

you can see below how great and easy a technique this is……anyone wanting to try a Red Barn look?!!

  • The sentiment is from one of the Stampin’Up! host sets, You’re Delightful. This year’s Host stamp sets are so good! Remember that you can choose them when you place a minimum $150 order. Plan those orders accordingly, you will want them ALL!
  • I stamped it in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.
  • The addition of the Linen Thread, Doily, and Pearls create a vintage-y look but still holds the clean and elegant look I love

Pals May 2017 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2017.

We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

For my project today I knew I wanted to share Heat Embossed Watercolor Resist. It is so easy, and I love how fabulous it looks with this new Daisy!

Stampin'Up! Daisy Delight stamp set, bundle, sneak peek, 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, heat embossing, emboss resist, watercolor, technique, tutorial, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

Details:

  • The card base is Pool Party and measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, the Daffodil Delight is 5 x 3 3/4″ and the Watercolor Paper is 4 3/4 x 3 1/2″.
  • I stamped the Daisy image from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Versamark on Watercolor Paper. I used the Embossing Buddy first to eliminate any static. I stamped them one by one and added the clear embossing powder, then did the next flower. It is a little tricky to see where you stamped on this paper.
  • My heat gun finished off the embossing part of the card.
  • I used the Watercolor Paper because I knew I wanted a “wet” watercolor. Using my Aquapainter I added a significant layer of water to the paper.
  • I then picked up some Pool Party ink from the lid of the ink pad. I squeezed water into the pool of ink from my Aquapainter to create a light and very fluid medium.
  • I applied a light layer of ink and then gradually added more color to create different depths of color.
  • I let the card dry slightly and then used my heat gun again to finish the drying process.
  • The back of the Watercolor panel has A LOT of Snail Adhesive to adhere it firmly to the Daffodil Delight panel. The Watercolor Paper can bow or ripple a bit but the snail does the trick to keep it flat.
  • The sentiment is also from the Daisy Delight stamp set and is stamped in Pool Party ink and stamped on Watercolor Paper, trimmed with the Triple Banner Punch.
  • A knot of our new Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon finishes the card.

Step it Up Sunday: Stampin’Up! Eastern Palace

Welcome to Step it Up Sunday!

You know I am a huge fan or clean and simple (CAS) design. Sometimes it is fun to step it up a little. Even though my stepped up version is still pretty simple for most. #truewords #5minutecards. For today’s Step it Up Sunday post I am sharing 2 cards that both feature the Stampin’Up! bundle Eastern Palace. I would love to know which one you like best!

Below you can see 2 options for ordering these items, both come with special free gifts during the month of May!

You know I am such a huge fan of our Folded Notecards and I am really excited that we now offer them in Vanilla!

Stampin'Up! Eastern Palace suite, gold stickers, sneak peek, bundle and save, step it up sunday #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • This first card uses one of those Very Vanilla Notecards. I adore the weight and the matching envelope AND the great price!
  • The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide directly onto the notecard
  • The Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers add great pop! TIP: be careful when pulling them off the sheet to use, particularly the round images need to be “eased” off so they don’t rip. Once you have them off they are pretty sturdy, but some of the larger ones just need a little TLC

Stampin'Up! Eastern Palace suite, gold stickers, sneak peek, bundle and save, step it up sunday #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • My stepped up version highlights some of the other items from this fun bundle
  • The Eastern Gold Vinyl Sticker was placed directly on the notecard.
  • A strip of the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper adds a stunning pop of color
  • The medallion was created with one of the Eastern Medallions Thinlits. Did you know that this thinlits work together to make well over 40 different images? I love the versatility!
  • The sentiment is once again stamped in Tranquil Tide, this time it was popped out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch and backed with dimensionals.
  • The finishing touch is a gold tassel from the Mini Tassels Assortment. It is tied on using our Linen Thread.

Stampin'Up! Eastern Palace suite, gold stickers, sneak peek, bundle and save, step it up sunday #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • With bundle one, which is $60.50, you will receive our NEW Very Vanilla Notecards and Envelopes FREE

5 Way Friday: SNEAK PEEK: Pick a Pattern Suite

Join us for a Stampin'Up! 5 Way Friday: inspiration for all your papercrafting

Happy Friday and welcome to our weekly 5 Way Friday post! I hope you guys love these as much as I do! When I sit down to create these I always grab a stamp set and a couple coordinating items and just start creating. If you are every in a creative rut I think the best think is to limit what you can use and see how creative you can be. Simple is good and often opens the door to a “oohhhh, what if I…..” stamping moment!

Today also showcases some sneak peeks from the Stampin’Up! 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. They go live to customers June 1st and I am happy to pop one in the mail to you, just email me at [email protected] with your snail mail address!

Stampin'Up! Sneak Peek, Pick a Pattern suite, Pieces and Patterns stamp set, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, masculine card, DIY, papercrafts, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • Seriously, this card just makes me smile! As soon as I saw this design from the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper I knew that moose was going to be the star of the show! I snipped him and his two other friends out lickety-split using my Stampin’Up! Paper Snips.
  • The greeting is from the coordinating stamp set Pieces & Patterns. I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and added a little bit of color with the Crushed Curry Marker. It was cropped out using the Ovals Layering Framelits, Big Shot and Magnetic Platform. Did you know that when you purchase a Big Shot from me I gift you a Magnetic Platform for FREE (that is a $40 value!)
  • The Flirty Flamingo cardstock layer was run thru the Big Shot with the NEW Oh My Stars Embossing folder and tied with the NEW Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon.

Stampin'Up! Sneak Peek, Pick a Pattern suite, Pieces and Patterns stamp set, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, masculine card, DIY, papercrafts, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

#thisdinosaur #bestillmyheart

Super crisp and clean for this adorable little dino. It was all stamped in our new Tranquil Tide Ink on Whisper White. A little background stamping and the Triple banner punch pulled this card together in minutes.

Stampin'Up! Sneak Peek, Pick a Pattern suite, Pieces and Patterns stamp set, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, masculine card, DIY, papercrafts, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • This paper is so cute! How can you resist Flirty Flamingo dinosaurs?!
  • One of the things I really like about the Pick a Pattern Paper is how one side has these detailed hand drawn images and the other is a great graphic print. The Emerald Envy cross hatch pattern plays perfectly off the dinosaurs and makes a great backdrop that allows the greeting to pop.
  • A quick wrap of Basic Black Baker’s Twine pulls all the elements together

Stampin'Up! Sneak Peek, Pick a Pattern suite, Pieces and Patterns stamp set, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, masculine card, DIY, papercrafts, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • Yes, amongst the moose and dinosaurs are these flowers!
  • I really wanted the sweetness of this paper to be front and center, and I love how it plays thru the Lace Doily.
  • The greeting is also from the Pieces and Patterns stamp set and is stamped in Crushed Curry ink and cropped out using the 1 3/4″ circle punch.
  • I added a wrap of the Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon and one of the 2016-2018 In Color Glitter Acrylic Shapes. These are super cute in person and attach easily with a mini glue dot

Stampin'Up! Sneak Peek, Pick a Pattern suite, Pieces and Patterns stamp set, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, masculine card, DIY, papercrafts, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

  • This may be one of my new favorite color combos: Basic Black and our new Lemon Lime Twist.
  • The layers make a big difference on this card, so here are the measurements: Thick Whisper White Cardstock base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, Basic Black 5 1/4 x 4″, Lemon Lime Twist 5 x 3 3/4″, and the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper is 4 3/4 x 3 1/2″
  • And can we just have a moment for that paper?! #wow With such a spectacular and strong image the card sure didn’t need much more to create a strong impact!
  • The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Basic Black Memento Ink on a scrap of Whisper White and cropped using the Triple Banner Punch.
  • And that bow!! It comes from the new embellishment, 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows, designed to coordinate with the 2017-2019 In Colors. I love that they have a little sticky dot on the back and all you have to do is peel it off and stick it on your card. I don’t think these “show” well in the catalog, but are really fun to use!

  • email me at [email protected] for your FREE 2017-2108 Stampin’Up! Annual Catalog
