FREE SHIPPING from Stampin’Up!

I am a “shop on line” kind of girl so I am always excited about Cyber Monday and all the savings from my favorite retailers. THIS YEAR I am super excited as Stampin’Up! is getting in the game with FREE SHIPPING on Monday, November 27!

I love free shipping because no matter the size of your order it is a great deal! And don’t we all hate to pay for shipping!

I am stocking up on re-inkers, cardstock, linen thread and bakers twine and have my list all ready to go!

If you aren’t a linen thread fan, here is my attempt to sway you 😉

Stampin'Up! Remarkable You stamp set, Stampin blends, sneak peek, Picture perfect stamp set, IY, papercrafting, handstamped greeting card, happy birthday

Details:

  • The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick whisper White Cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″. Be sure to score the Thick Whisper White gently so that it folds neatly for you.
  • I added a top layer of Whisper White Cardstock that measures 4 x 5 1/4″.
  • The panel of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is 3 x 5 1/4″ and is backed with a piece of 3 1/4 x 5 1/4″ of Old Olive Cardstock.
  • The leaves are from the Remarkable You stamp set (you can see other samples of that set here). They were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored in using our Old Olive Stampin’ Blends (my EASY blends tutorial can be found here). I fussy cut them out using the Stampin’Up! Paper Snips.
  • Linen Thread makes the perfect rustic bow to compliment the Wood Texture Designer Series Paper.
  • The sentiment is a little sneak peek from the Stampin’Up! Occasions Catalog. It is from a set called Picture Perfect Birthday and is stamped in Old Olive Classic Ink. Isn’t that font divine?
  • The 2 1/4″ circle punch provides a perfect spot for the sentiment, as well as a great way to pull all the elements of the card together.

Free Shipping on Monday so get that list together!

Yesterday I promised some tips on using the Stampin’ Blends. I feel like I need to start with a disclaimer: I am not an artist, I am a paper crafter. And even after 18 years, I do it for the fun, not for the outcome. but my guess is that many of you feel the same way. I don’t need to create a masterpiece, I just want to have fun creating and sharing!

First, a couple of cards that were my intro into the Stampin’ Blends

So here are my SUPER SIMPLE TIPS

I have found success with Whisper White, Very Vanilla, and Thick Whisper White and Thick Very Vanilla

Place a sheet of cardstock under the sheet you are working on. These are alcohol markers so we want them to spread, but we also want to keep the bleeding to a minimum. The extra layer under neath make a significant difference.

Stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and stamp several so that you can play around. Coloring is fun 😉 and so give yourself some time to practice

I like to heat my stamped images with an Embossing Tool to “set the ink” so it doesn’t smudge or bleed

you can add the dark color first where you want the most shading

and then use the lighter color to pull the dark color over

you can also color the entire image with the light color and then add the dark color

go back with the light color and pull the dark color out

another option is to leave a little white spot for another level of shading

The more you play the better you get. And everyone has a different look they like. I like a rough and bold look, some people like a more blended look. The key is to play, play, play and practice, practice, practice.

Stampin’Up! has a great video tutorial for you on blending as well

I think these are so fun to work with and I know you will artistic as well with our Stampin’ Blends!
