Step it Up Sunday: Stampin’Up! In the City stamp set

Welcome to Step it Up Sunday!

You know I am a huge fan or clean and simple (CAS) design. Sometimes it is fun to step it up a little. Even though my stepped up version is still pretty simple for most. #truewords #5minutecards. For today’s Step it Up Sunday post I am sharing 2 cards that both feature one of the 2017-2018 Stampin’Up! Host Sets, In the City

Stampin'Up! In the City stamp set, host set, sneak peek, clean and simple, handstamped, papercrafts, diy

Today’s cards feature one of the new Host Sets from the Stampin’Up! 2017-2018 Catalog. Host sets are available to anyone who spends $150 or more either by themselves of from orders they have gathered.

The In the City stamp set features 60 photopolymer stamps! Friend, that is a lot of bang for your buck!

  • The first card above uses Whisper White and Pacific Point.
  • The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Thick Whisper White, the top layer is 5 x 3 3/4″ Whisper White and the circle is also from our Whisper White Cardstock.
  • I placed 3 house stamps on one clear block, inked it in Pacific Point and then stamped onto a 1/4 sheet of Whisper White. The circle was cropped out easily using the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform. Did you know that when you purchase a Big Shot from me I gift you the Magnetic Platform? (that is a $40 value!!)
  • I added a wrap and knot of the NEW Pacific Point 1/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon. This ribbon will also be available in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Rich Razzleberry.

Stampin'Up! In the City stamp set, host set, sneak peek, clean and simple, handstamped, papercrafts, diy

My stepped up version adds some color and layers!

  • The colors are Whisper White, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Pacific Point.
  • The measurements are Thick Whisper White (cardstock of the gods) 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, Pacific Point 5 1/4 x 4″, Crumb Cake 5 x 3 3/4″. I used a quarter sheet of Whisper White for the circle of houses and banner.
  • The trio of house stamps was lined up on my clear block, inked in Crumb Cake nad then stamped. I repeated this several times to make my little neighborhood street scene.
  • I cleaned the stamp with my Stampin’ Mist and Stampin’ Scrub and then inked it again in Pacific Point and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. I knew I wanted a close crop of the images so I could layer it on top of the Crumb Cake layer. I played around with my Layering Circle framelits to find just the right one.
  • I added the ribbon and then popped the Pacific Point houses on top using dimensionals.
  • The banner is created using sentiments from the In the City stamp set. One was stamped in Pacific point and the other in Real Red to give it a little pop.  I used one of my circle punches to create the rounded edge on the banner. I think it plays nicely with the soft round edges of the house images.

Sneak Peek Saturday: Stampin’Up! You’re Delightful

Stampin'Up! sneak peek saturday, eastern palace suite, stampin'up! catalog 2017-2018 #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

I know it is super mean to share products from the 2017-2018 Stampin’Up! Catalog you can’t buy yet, but they are way too good to keep all to myself! So welcome to Sneak Peek Saturday…..a little glimpse at some of the fun new products coming your way!

You all know I love words, fonts, and sentiments! This new You’re Delightful host set from Stampin’Up! makes me all sorts of happy. Remember that host sets are available to anyone who spends or submits orders totaling $150 or more at one time.  June 1 you can order from the new catalog and I would highly recommend plotting and planning your wish list to take advantage of being able to get your hands on some of the host sets. I think this year’s host sets are some of the very best we have had!

Stampin'Up! You're the Best stamp set, host set 2017-2018 Stampin'Up! Catalog, lemon lime twist, berry burst, papercrafts, diy, handmade, rubber stamps

Details:

The color combo is Whisper White, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist

Measurements: Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, Whisper White layer 5 1/4 x 4, Lemon Lime Twist 2 1/4 x 4″, Berry Burst 4 1/4 x 2 1/2″, Lemon Lime Twist 4 x 2 1/4″, Whisper White 3 3/4 x 2″.

Once the cardstock is cut the rest of the card comes together in a snap. The main sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst on whisper White and then layered (yes, there are dimensionals between every layer because that makes me happy)

The Lemon Lime Twist piece is run thru the Big Shot with the Seaside Embossing folder

And I LOVE the sass of that little sentiment on the bottom right that is stamped in Lemon Lime Twist. It adds fun and balances the card #bonus

Inking Royalty Blog Hop: Sneak Peeks!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s May Blog Hop! Today’s Blog Hop is filled with projects that offer you a sneak peek at new items in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog.

We are so excited about the June 1 release of this new catalog – it’s AMAZING – and we are excited to share our sneak peek creations with you today. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

You all know I love a good font! The minute I saw this new thinlit it jumped onto my “must buy ASAP” list. It is available to you June 1st. You will want it, trust me 😉

Stampin'Up! Happy Birthday Thinlit, polka dots, handstamped, papercrafts, diy, red, blue

Details:

Color combo is Real Red, Soft Sky, and Whisper White

Measurements are 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ Soft Sky base, 4 x 5 1/4″ Real Red, 3 3/4 x 5 Whisper White

The polka dots are created using the circle from the NEW stamp set Wood Words. I love that the set coordinates with the Wood Crate bundle but I am also a huge fan of the circle, star and heart image that come with it. If you look closely you can see that there is some texture to the circle stamp which is really fun!

The thinlit really does all the work for this card. A quick swing thru the Big Shot with Real Red cardstock makes it a fast and simple card. I used my FINE TIPPED GLUE PEN to adhere it and the fun little sequins from the METALLIC SEQUINS

A great clean and simple card that you could easily make in a variety of colors as a birthday card for anyone!

Sneak Peek Saturday: Lovely Friends and Wood Textures Designer Series Paper

Stampin'Up! sneak peek saturday, eastern palace suite, stampin'up! catalog 2017-2018 #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

I know it is super mean to share products from the 2017-2018 Stampin’Up! Catalog you can’t buy yet, but they are way too good to keep all to myself! So welcome to Sneak Peek Saturday…..a little glimpse at some of the fun new products coming your way!

Today I am sharing one of my fav new stamp sets and one of the Designer Series Paper Packs that need to be at the tippy top of your “buy right now” list!

Stampin'Up! Lovely Friends stamp set, Wood Textures designer Series paper pack, heat embossing, clean and simple, papercraft, diy, handstamped, rubber stamping

Details:

  • The color combo is a clean and classic Whisper White and Basic Black.
  • Measurements are: Thick Whisper White cardstock cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ and lightly scored in the middle, Basic Black 4 x 5 1/4″, Whisper White 3 3/4 x 5, Basic Black 4 x 3 1/2″, Wood Textures Paper 3 3/4 x 3 1/4″.
  • The sentiment is from the Stampin’Up! Lovely Friends stamp set found in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, and it is everything! The fonts are fantastic and the size makes it so easy to work with! I heat embossed it in Black so that it would pop.
  • Heat Embossing Basics: Be sure to use the Embossing Buddy to remove any static from the paper. I used Versamark ink to stamp and basic black embossing powder. Always keep a little paint brush handy to brush away any random flecks. I like to turn my Embossing Gun on and let it heat up for about 10 seconds and then take it to the image to melt the powder. I think it goes faster and has less opportunity for scorching the paper.
  • I sued the NEW Wood Textures Paper to emboss the sentiment on. I think this is going to be something I reach for often. There are lots of different wood textures in the pack which gives it great versatility. I also like that it comes 6×6 as I think it makes it easier to use.
  • As I was putting it together I felt like it needed a little “balance”. The addition of a Lace Doily and some Black and Gold Metallic Thread help the card feel complete.
  • Layers of dimensionals, one in each corner and one in the middle, help to add depth and interest to the card

5 Way Friday: Stampin’Up! Touches of Texture stamp set

Join us for a Stampin'Up! 5 Way Friday: inspiration for all your papercrafting

5 Way Friday is a fan favorite and this week I am so excited to share with your 5 ah-mazing samples using the Stampin’Up! Touches of Texture stamp set. This stamp set has so many versatile images, which is super exciting to me, and I know you are going to love these different looks.

Stampin'Up! Touches of Texture stamp set, cardmaking, DIY, papercrafting, rubber stamping #lisapretto, #inkbigacademystamps

Whisper White, Crumb Cake, and Calypso Coral is a super hip color combo. The greeting is a little sneak peek from the Wood Words stamp set and the Burlap ribbon finishes the shabby chic feel of this card.

Stampin'Up! Touches of Texture stamp set, cardmaking, DIY, papercrafting, rubber stamping #lisapretto, #inkbigacademystamps

I had to use Pacific Point so that I could use this new ribbon again! I can’t wait to get it in all the colors!! Daffodil Delight and Whisper White create a cheery and crisp card.

Stampin'Up! Touches of Texture stamp set, cardmaking, DIY, papercrafting, rubber stamping #lisapretto, #inkbigacademystamps

Shimmery White Cardstock is a must for this card. I stamped the floral images in Dapper Denim and Tranquil Tide 9one of our new 2017-2019 In Colors) and then used our Stampin’Up! Spritzer to create a soft watercolor background. The ribbon is Tranquil Tide and is a dream to work with!

Stampin'Up! Touches of Texture stamp set, cardmaking, DIY, papercrafting, rubber stamping #lisapretto, #inkbigacademystamps

The Touches of Texture stamp set has great images to create collage style cards. I used 2 of our 2017-2019 In colors, Powder Pink and Berry Burst, for a sweet card. The greeting, colors, and ribbon are all sneak peeks from the new catty that debuts June 1….and those pearls are seriously sweet!

Basic Black, Whisper White and Powder Pink work together beautifully on this card. Our Stampin’Up! Markers make quick work of adding a little color to the to the flowers and leaves. The Linen Thread is a great addition that keeps this card from being too sweet.
