InKing Royalty Blog Hop: Stampin’Up! Retiring In Colors

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! Today’s hop is filled with projects inspired by the Stampin’ Up!’s retiring 2015-2017 In Color Collection – our tributes to Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder. What fun! We’ve really enjoyed playing with these amazing colors over the past two years – and we are excited to share our creations with you today.

After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Stampin'Up! Stylized birthday stamp, Cucumber Crush, heat embossing, gold tips, techniques, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

Details:

  • I am focusing on Cucumber Crush today. I love how this bright green plays so beautifully with Whisper White and Gold accents
  • I remember the first time I saw heat embossing, it was like magic! TIPS: Be sure to use the EMBOSSING BUDDY to remove any static and keep a small paint brush nearby to fend off any stray embossing powder.
  • I am loving the Stylized Happy Birthday stamp! It is a great buy and works so well for any age and any gender birthday. This is definitely the little black dress of our stamps, you can dress it up or down so easily!
  • I cropped the sentiment out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The little stitching around the edge is a subtle yet great accent.
  • Gold Glimmer Paper, Gold Fancy Foil Acetate, and the Metallic Enamel Shapes add festive touches of gold to make this card special. I love my stash of sparkly accents to keep my cards crisp and clean yet give a special feel.
  • A layer and banner of Cucumber Crush create a great balance for the Whisper White and Gold Accents. And the play of banners and the circle offers clean lines and curved edges making the card more interesting.

Pals Blog Hop: Families First!

Welcome to the Families First Pals Blog Hop for April 2017.

We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Stampin'Up! High tide stamp set, graduation card, money holder, gift card holder, technique, tutorial, lighthouse, red, gray, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

For my card this morning I decided to make a Graduation Card using the High Tide stamp set. I have had this set for a bit but hadn’t inked it up yet……OMG, this set is so super fabulous! I cannot wait to stamp with this again. The photopolymer makes it so easy to line up and create some great images!

Plus, you could really do this in any colors, including the school colors of the graduate #bonus

Details:

The color combo is Real Red, Smoky Slate and Whisper White, which is such a great, crisp combo!

  • Measurements: The card base is Smoky Slate and measures 4 1/4 x 11″. The Whisper White panel inside the card measures 4 x 5 1/4″. The focal image is a 3 x 3 1/2″ Whisper White layered on a 3 1/4 x 3 3/4″ Real Red and then place on a Smoky Slate that measures 3 1/2 x 5″
  • The lighthouse from the High Tide stamp set is stamped first in Real Red and then the detail image is stamped in Smoky Slate, The sand is Sahara Sand.
  • The Smoky Slate piece is scored at 4″. This gives me a nice large section to adhere to the back of the card which creates the flip up action.
  • The card base is folded in half and then turned so that the fold is on the bottom. The front panel of Smoky Slate has been trimmed to 3 1/2″. A piece of Real Red measuring 4 x 3 1/4″ and was run thru the Big Shot with the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder.
  • When you flip the card open it shows a small envelope that was created with Gift Card Envelope Thinlit. The perfect stop to slip in a little cash of gift card for the new graduate!
  • The sentiment comes from the Suite Sentiments stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog.

The color combination is Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White and Watermelon Wonder

The sentiment from the Layering Love stamp set, found in the Stampin’Up! Annual Catalog, was stamped in Watermelon Wonder and cropped out using the Layering Circles Framelits. The sweet scallop circle layered underneath is also from the Layering Circle Framelits. Did you know that when you purchase a Big Shot from me I gift you the Magnetic Platform for free?!! (that is a $40 value!)

I added a Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe doily underneath and a wrap and knot of the Watermelon Wonder Ribbon.

Autism Blog Hop: Stampin’Up! Over the Rainbow

I am so honored to be hopping today with some of my favorite Stampin’Up! demonstrators to bring awareness to Autism, along with raising funds for Autism Speaks–enhancing lives today and accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.

A little fact about Autism: if one identical twin is diagnosed with Autism the other twin has about a 90% chance to develop an autistic disorder.
In keeping with the colors of Autism I created this sweet card with Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay
Stampin'Up! Over the Rainbow stamp set, autism blog hop, You are my sunshine, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps
Details:
  • The color combo is Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White
  •  The Daffodil Delight card base measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. I cut off 2 1/2″ from the front panel. I trimmed that cut off portion down to 3 3/4 x 2 1/2″ and ran it thru the Big Shot with the Happy Hearts embossing folder. A fun little change up to make the card fun and engaging!
  • The inside of the card is layered: Bermuda Bay measures 5 1/4 x 4″ and the Whisper White layer measures 5 x 3 3/4″.
  • I stamped the heart from the Stampin’Up! Over the Rainbow stamp set, found in the Annual Catalog, on the top 3/4 of the Whisper White panel in Daffodil Delight
  • The main focal point is also from the Over the Rainbow stamp set. The sun is stamped in Daffodil Delight and the greeting is stamped in Bermuda Bay. I cropped it out using the Layering Squares Framelits. The sweet scalloped Bermuda Bay piece is also created with the Layering Squares Framelits.
  • A wrap of Crushed Curry Bakers Twine and a swag of Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim lets the recipient of this card know they truly are special and dear

I would be thrilled to have you make a donation to Autism Speaks today. You will be directed to my friend Amy Koender’s fundraising page.  After you do that please email me that you donated and I will pop a sweet little thank you gift in the mail to you! If all of you were to donate just $5 we would make it a HUGE DAY…..and wouldn’t that be fun to be a part of?!

Hopping with the Pals: Spring has Sprung!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring Spring or Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
Stampin'Up! That's the Tag bundle, Timeless Tags Thinlits, spring flowers, DIY, handstamped, #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

If we are talking Spring, then we have to talk flowers!! One of my girlfriends owns a greenhouse and I tease her that I have single handedly sent her 3 boys thru college. I have zero self control when it comes to spring planting! I think living in Wisconsin, with our warm season being so short, you just have to go hard 🙂

  • so here are the details on the card I created:
  • The color combo is Stampin’Up! Daffodil Delight, Cucumber Crush, Whisper White and Basic Black
  • Measurements: Thick Whisper White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, Cucumber Crush 5 1/4 x 4″, Whisper White 5 x 3 3/4″, Cucumber Crush Envelope Paper 5 x 1 1/2″
  • The Cucumber Crush Envelope Paper comes in the 205-2017 Envelope Paper. You get 20 sheets, 4 each of the 5 in colors, in text weight paper for $11. Super fun to work with and a great addition to my patterned paper obsession 🙂
  • That’s the Tag bundle in the Stampin’Up! Occasions Catalog is one of the “sleepers”, but it is definitely worth a second look. Lots of great sentiments and fonts, fabulous tag framelits and fun images.
  • I ran the flower tag image from the Timeless Tags Thinlits thru the Big Shot 3 times: with Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Cucumber Crush. Then I just played with all the pieces on a scrap of Whisper White. It was kind of like putting a puzzle together 🙂 I wouldn’t recommend making 100 of them, but 1 was pretty fun!
  • The “For You” sentiment is from the That’s the Tag stamp set as well. It is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and finished with the Triple Banner Punch.
  • The Cucumber Crush envelope paper helps to ground the card and a fun and flirty bow of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine finishes it sweetly. I love that the Crushed Curry twine works beautifully with the Daffodil Delight cardstock! #whoknew
  • And you know there are lots of dimensionals to make it pop
