Give Thanks – Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for October 2017. This month our theme is Give Thanks!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog –  Lisa Pretto @ InkBig Academy Stamps or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

So this month we are focused on the theme of “Give Thanks”, and there are few things I am as grateful for as my fellow demonstrators. These people have become my family and even if we only get to see each other a couple times a year, they hold a very special place in my heart.

One of the upsides of being a demonstrator is that you receive a lot of happy mail, which is a pretty awesome perk!

Here are some of the cards I have gotten in the last few weeks. I hope they inspire not only to create, but to send cards to the people you care about.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog –Lisa Pretto @ InkBig Academy Stamps, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

The 2nd Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

2nd Annual Ultimate Pink Blog Hop

We are going pink today to raise awareness of breast cancer and to honor those who have fought this disease. I would ask you to take a moment and send out your love and light to those families who have been affected, the courageous fighters, and those who are no longer with us.

Death rates from breast cancer continue to decline due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options. For this, we are all thankful and need to do all we can to continue this trend!

My card today is in honor of those personal friends who have battled with courage and grace.

Stampin'Up! Wood Words stamp set, DIY, Papercrafting, breast cancer awareness, pink, black, white

Details:

  • The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″. It is lightly scored at 4 1/4″ to create a clean crisp fold.
  • The layers: Melon Mambo 5 1/4 x 4″, Basic Black 5 x 3 3/4″, Whisper White 4 3/4 x 3 1/2″
  • The top Whisper White layer was run thru the Big Shot using the Trellis Embossing Folder
  • The 2 hearts, from the Wood Words stamp set found in the Stampin’Up! Annual Catalog are stamped in Melon Mambo. The sentiment, also from the Wood Words stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • A wrap of Black Baker’s Twine finished with a bow pulls the card together.

Stampin'Up! Wood Words stamp set, DIY, Papercrafting, breast cancer awareness, pink, black, white

sweet, simple, and heartfelt.

It can be challenging to know how to show up when someone is battling and struggling with the challenges of illness. I would encourage you to keep it sweet, simple, and heartfelt. Show up, sit, call, text, pray, and listen xo.

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop : Halloween

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

Welcome to the Blog Hop for September 2017. This month our theme is Halloween!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Lisa Pretto or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Lisa Pretto.

Stampin'Up! Spooky Cat stamp set, treat container, DIY, papercrafts, treats, lisapretto, inkbigacademystamps

I have a confession: I LOVE PEEPS!! I know this is highly controversial, but I stand proudly on the side of Yes to All the Peeps! And here is another little confession…..if you leave them out and they get a little stale they are even better. I know you are either disgusted or over-joyed, but we all have a food quirk or two, don’t we?!

DETAILS:

  • I always have a stash of our Stampin’Up! cellophane bags. I love how easily they can dress up almost everything!
  • The topper for this bag was made with a 4 x 4″ square of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, folded in the middle. I stapled it to the bag before decorating it.
  • A small rectangle from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper creates a great landing spot for all the other embellishments.
  • I layered 2 tags starting with a Basic Black Everyday Label Punch and then topping that with the Pretty Label Punch. The greeting from the Stampin’Up! Spooky Cat stamp set was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then the “Happy Halloween” was added in Pumpkin Pie.
  • Black Rhinestones add a little sparkle to the sentiment.
  • It is finished off with a wrap and bow of our Basic Black Baker’s Twine and a couple lengths of Mini Black Sequins.
  • Fun, Festive, and in my opinion oh so yummy!!

Details:

  • I purchased this ceramic coffee mug after the holidays last year and knew it would make a great host gift when filled with candies and a gift card.
  • The tag is made with the Labels to Love stamp set, stamped in Real Red and Emerald Envy on Whisper White. It is cropped out using the Everyday Label Punch.
  • A Rhinestone is added to the label for a little added sparkle.
  • Isn’t that 7/8″ Striped Black and White Ribbon divine?! It is the perfect touch to tie this mug together. A few of our Green Sprigs create an even more festive look. These sprigs are kind of hidden in the Stampin’Up! Holiday Catalog, but look close on page 12….you will definitely want these!!
  • Wouldn’t you love to give, or get, a gift that looks this pretty?
