Bright and Cheery with the Inking Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop!

Today’s hop is filled to the brim with projects that celebrate Spring and Summer. With inspiration from Katrina & the Waves’ song “Walking on Sunshine,” we’ve created projects that share the joy and excitement that accompany warmer weather. We are excited to share our projects with you.

After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

First, I feel like I need to introduce myself since it has been so long since I have blogged! #bloggerwoes

But here is the deal: I don’t love to blog. Yep, it just isn’t my jam.

But you know what I do love? Facebook

and I love connecting and sharing with you, and I feel like I can do a better job of that on Facebook.

So 2 things:

I am committing to #365creativechallenge. I am going to share for 365 days straight on my FB page AND do a giveaway each day for those who stop by and comment. So make sure you are part of my page HERE

Secondly, I am going to use my WEEKLY newsletter to offer sales, specials and PDFs. So make sure you are signed up for that HERE

and I will blog occasionally like today, when I am doing blog hops with my team, because that is way fun!

So today I went with my of my favorite color combos: yellow and gray, in the form of Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray:

Stampin'Up! Heartfelt Blooms, SaleABration 2018, Handmade card, Clean and simple, CAS, card sketch, tutorial, technique

Details:

  • I did a lot of layering on this card, so lets start with measurements. The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White Cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″. I love the Thick Whisper White for a sturdy card base.
  • The layers then followed: Basic Gray at 5 1/4 x 4″, Daffodil Delight at 5 x 3 3/4″ and Whisper White at 4 3/4 x 3 1/2″.
  • The floral image from Heartfelt Blooms was stamped in Daffodil Delight on a piece of 3 3/4 x 2 3/4″ Whisper White. It is layered on a piece of Basic Gray that measures 4 x 3″.
  • Heartfelt Blooms is a SaleABration stamp set which means you can get it for free with $50 purchase in my online store
  • I love this stamp set! Everyone loves a good floral, but I love how this one is so versatile. It can be modern, retro, vintage….it really takes on the flavor of whatever you put with it. And you can only get it free until the end of the month. #youhavebeenwarned
  • I think the Smoky Slate Gingham Ribbon is just the most perfect finishing touch to keep this card fresh and sharp

Last Call for Sale-a-Bration with The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop!

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for March 2018. This month our theme is Last Call for Sale-a-Bration!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog –Lisa Pretto @ InkBig Academy Stamps or you may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you don’t miss any of the projects and inspiration.

So make sure you are signed up for that HERE

and I will blog occasionally when I am doing blog hops with my team, because that is way fun!

So today’s theme is all about the LAST CALL for SaleABration. SaleABration comes to a close the end of March and I have a couple items that I have fallen in love with and do not want you to miss out on!

This Spring Time Foils Designer Series Paper has to be one of my most favorite Stampin’Up! papers ever. It is stunning metallic prints on a creamy background. You know I am a clean and simple girl so I like to use it just as it is. But I have seen it colored and sponged to create one of a kind backgrounds.

  • 12 sheets of 12 x 12 paper
  • 3 each of four designs
  • Silver, Gold and Rose Gold
  • FREE with a $50 purchase

Confession time: I actually have 2 sets of the Celebrate Thinlit Dies because I was worried I might misplace one and knew I would want a back up. I love words and these sentiments perfectly cover almost every occasion!

They are one of the products you can earn for free with a $100 order during SAB, DEFINITELY worth it! I am smitten!

So here is my clean and simple card showcasing the two Stampin’Up! SaleABration items I sure don’t want you to miss:

Stampin'Up! SaleABration, Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper, Celebrate You thinlit dies, papercrafting, DIY, technique, tutorials

Details:

  • The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. I lightly score it before folding for a clean crisp fold line.
  • The Basic Black layer is 4 x 5 1/4″ and the top layer of Whisper White is 3 3/4 x 5″
  • The Springtime Foil Designer Series Paper is cut to 2″ wide. It is attached to a piece of Basic Black that is 2 1/4″ wide.
  • I then laid it across the card front and trimmed off the excess (and saved it of course to use on another project!)
  • The sparkly “celebrate” was cropped out using the Celebrate You thinlits and Stampin’Up! Gold Glimmer Paper. i like to use our Fine Tipped Glue Pen to adhere the sentiment to the card.

Inking Royalty: I Think I Love You Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop!

This year’s Blog Hop themes will be inspired by popular songs – the first is “I Think I Love You.” Our Blog Hop today is jam-packed with projects that are perfect for Valentine’s Day or that showcase love. How sweet is that?! We are excited to share our love-themed creations with you today. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Stampin'Up! Petal Palette stamp set, Ceelbrate You thinlits, Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, Valentine, DIY, papercrafting

Details:

  • The card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White Cardstock.I adore this cardstock as a base. The trick is to lightly score the cardstock before folding for a crisp clean line.
  • The top layer of Whisper White measures 3 3/4 x 5″. It like this bolder border (say that 3x fast!!) for a simple card layout.
  • I created a negative image using the Celebrate You thinlits from the Stampin’Up! SaleABration Catalog. These are free with a $100 purchase and are my favorite offering this year. I made a light line with a pencil to help me line up the images. Another little tip? By placing them in the bottom corner I don’t have to worry about centering the sentiments vertically. Make sure to keep the middle of the O and adhere with a mini dimensional.
  • The striking Painted with Love Specialty Designer peeks thru the negative space and is just perfect! The gold foil on this paper is always so hard to photograph, but in person? Oo-la-la
  • I added a little banner on the left side showcasing our Gold Glimmer Paper, Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon and a sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set inked in Melon Mambo.
  • Loads of dimensionals give it some pop.

Valentines for The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop!

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

I remember when the kiddos were little and we made dozens and dozens of Valentines for their school mates, family and our neighbors. In the past couple of years I haven’t done a lot of Valentine cards aside those for my fella, my parents, and to stick in goodie boxes to send to the college kids.

I have decided to up my Valentine game this year and have a list of people I want to be sure know how special they are to me. I’m not going to ruin the surprise by telling you who, but lets just say I have a lot of crafting coming up in the next few weeks.

I think this card will be perfect for mass producing AND making the recipient feel special.

Stampin'Up! Sure Do Love You bundle, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Valentine, DIY, Papaercraft, Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, clean and simple, CAS, card layout

Details:

  • The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White cardstock. i adore this cardstock for the base as it is really nice and sturdy. I scored it at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ for a nice crisp fold line.
  • The Whisper White Cardstock layer measures 3 3/4 x 5″ creating a nice wide border. This card is pretty simple in design and that wider border helps create a little more visual interest.
  • The Pink Pirouette layer is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4″ and the Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is 3 x 3. Can we have a moment for that beautiful paper? The gold that runs thru it gives it a lovely rich feel, worthy of a card that says “I Love You”.
  • Both the heart and the sentiment are from the Sure Do Love You stamp set and are cropped out using the Lots to Love Box Framelits. These come as a bundle and when purchased together saves you 10% #winning
  • I added a little gold foil doily and a wrap of Fresh Fig Finely Woven Ribbon

Stampin'Up! Amazing You stamp set, Celebrate You thinlits, Party Pandas stamp set, SaleABration. Get all of these items for free with a qualifying purchase, papercrafts, DIY, I made this

I told you it was CUTE!

Details:

  • The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White cardstock which makes such a perfect base for a card. It is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. The scoring makes a huge difference in getting a crisp and clean fold line.
  • The top layer is Whisper White Cardstock cut to 4 x 5 1/4″
  • The focal point of the card is that fun Panda from the SaleAbration stamp set Party Pandas, free with a minimum $50 order. I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White and cropped him out using the 2″ circle punch. I added the little sentiment on the sign, also from the Party Pandas stamp set and stamped it in Lemon Lime Twist
  • The panda is layered on a 3×3 piece from the Tutti Frutti 6×6 Designer series Paper Stack. This is a new paper stack found in the Stampin’Up! Occasions Catalog. It has some really fun fruit designs on one side and then a graphic design like the one I used on the other. I  love that because it makes it super versatile!
  • The designer paper is layered on a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4″ piece of Berry Burst Cardstock. And tied with a piece of the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon.
  • The cropped out words are from the Amazing You stamp set, also a SaleABration stamp set and free with a $50 purchase. I popped them up with dimensionals to help them stand out.
  • How awesome is that “awesome”? As a word girl I always fall in love with our word thinlits. This one is from the Celebrate You thinlits die and is one of the free items you can choose with a $100 order during SaleABration. I used my fine tipped glue pen to adhere it to the card front.
  • The last embellishment I added were the Tutti Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins in Berry Burst. And yes, you read that right! They come with there own adhesive on the back making them so simple to use! They come in a set with 50 each of Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.

Sneak Peek for the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop!

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

Today on the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop we are sharing fun sneak peeks from the Occasions Catalog. This catalog is chock full of fun bright images that will make you smile!

I am sharing the stamp set Amazing Congratulations today. It has a world of potential and fun in how it can be used, but I opted for a really simply look

Stampin'Up! amazing Congratulations stamp set, Occasions Catalog, sneak peek, DIY, papercrafting

Details:

The card base is Stampin’Up! Thick Whisper White Cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″. The next layer is Whisper White cut to 4 x 5 1/4″

I used the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder at an angle to create a little bit of visual interest in the top Whisper White layer

The “congratulations” is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White. I colored it in using the Pool Party Stampin Blends

Stampin'Up! amazing Congratulations stamp set, Stampin' Blends, Occasions Catalog, sneak peek, DIY, papercrafting

The bottom sentiment, also from the Amazing Congratulations stamp set, is stamped in Lemon Lime Twist.

Both of my embellishments are from the fun Tutti Frutti Suite also found in the Occasions Catalog. The sequins are a dream come true as they are ADHESIVE BACKED making them so easy and mess free to work with. The Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ Striped Ribbon ties so beautifully.
