Step it Up Sunday: Stampin’Up! In the City stamp set

Welcome to Step it Up Sunday!

You know I am a huge fan or clean and simple (CAS) design. Sometimes it is fun to step it up a little. Even though my stepped up version is still pretty simple for most. #truewords #5minutecards. For today’s Step it Up Sunday post I am sharing 2 cards that both feature one of the 2017-2018 Stampin’Up! Host Sets, In the City

Today’s cards feature one of the new Host Sets from the Stampin’Up! 2017-2018 Catalog. Host sets are available to anyone who spends $150 or more either by themselves of from orders they have gathered.

The In the City stamp set features 60 photopolymer stamps! Friend, that is a lot of bang for your buck!

  • The first card above uses Whisper White and Pacific Point.
  • The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Thick Whisper White, the top layer is 5 x 3 3/4″ Whisper White and the circle is also from our Whisper White Cardstock.
  • I placed 3 house stamps on one clear block, inked it in Pacific Point and then stamped onto a 1/4 sheet of Whisper White. The circle was cropped out easily using the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform. Did you know that when you purchase a Big Shot from me I gift you the Magnetic Platform? (that is a $40 value!!)
  • I added a wrap and knot of the NEW Pacific Point 1/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon. This ribbon will also be available in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Rich Razzleberry.

My stepped up version adds some color and layers!

  • The colors are Whisper White, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Pacific Point.
  • The measurements are Thick Whisper White (cardstock of the gods) 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, Pacific Point 5 1/4 x 4″, Crumb Cake 5 x 3 3/4″. I used a quarter sheet of Whisper White for the circle of houses and banner.
  • The trio of house stamps was lined up on my clear block, inked in Crumb Cake nad then stamped. I repeated this several times to make my little neighborhood street scene.
  • I cleaned the stamp with my Stampin’ Mist and Stampin’ Scrub and then inked it again in Pacific Point and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. I knew I wanted a close crop of the images so I could layer it on top of the Crumb Cake layer. I played around with my Layering Circle framelits to find just the right one.
  • I added the ribbon and then popped the Pacific Point houses on top using dimensionals.
  • The banner is created using sentiments from the In the City stamp set. One was stamped in Pacific point and the other in Real Red to give it a little pop.  I used one of my circle punches to create the rounded edge on the banner. I think it plays nicely with the soft round edges of the house images.

Sneak Peek Saturday: Stampin’Up! You’re Delightful

Stampin'Up! sneak peek saturday, eastern palace suite, stampin'up! catalog 2017-2018 #lisapretto #inkbigacademystamps

I know it is super mean to share products from the 2017-2018 Stampin’Up! Catalog you can’t buy yet, but they are way too good to keep all to myself! So welcome to Sneak Peek Saturday…..a little glimpse at some of the fun new products coming your way!

You all know I love words, fonts, and sentiments! This new You’re Delightful host set from Stampin’Up! makes me all sorts of happy. Remember that host sets are available to anyone who spends or submits orders totaling $150 or more at one time.  June 1 you can order from the new catalog and I would highly recommend plotting and planning your wish list to take advantage of being able to get your hands on some of the host sets. I think this year’s host sets are some of the very best we have had!

Stampin'Up! You're the Best stamp set, host set 2017-2018 Stampin'Up! Catalog, lemon lime twist, berry burst, papercrafts, diy, handmade, rubber stamps

Details:

The color combo is Whisper White, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist

Measurements: Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, Whisper White layer 5 1/4 x 4, Lemon Lime Twist 2 1/4 x 4″, Berry Burst 4 1/4 x 2 1/2″, Lemon Lime Twist 4 x 2 1/4″, Whisper White 3 3/4 x 2″.

Once the cardstock is cut the rest of the card comes together in a snap. The main sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst on whisper White and then layered (yes, there are dimensionals between every layer because that makes me happy)

The Lemon Lime Twist piece is run thru the Big Shot with the Seaside Embossing folder

And I LOVE the sass of that little sentiment on the bottom right that is stamped in Lemon Lime Twist. It adds fun and balances the card #bonus

5 Way Friday: Stampin’Up! Birthday Delivery bundle

Join us for a Stampin'Up! 5 Way Friday: inspiration for all your papercrafting

5 Way Friday is a fan favorite and this week I am so excited to share with your 5 ah-mazing samples using the Stampin’Up! Birthday Delivery Bundle. This bundle is unlike anything Stampin’Up! has ever offered and is going to be a HUGE seller!

So let’s get down to the nitty gritty of why this new bundle is so awesome! The bundle is a stamp set with images and sentiments, the Framelits fit around those images AND……wait for it……the Framelits also crop out images from the coordinating designer series paper!! #saywhat

I have focused most of my samples on this new coordination because it is just so stinkin cool!

The Real Red and Crumb Cake card above features the poodle from this bundle. No fussy cutting needed, I just used my Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, the Framelits and Designer Series Paper #love. The Real Red patterned paper below is from the Birthday memories Designer Series Paper as well.

OMG this little girl is a flash back! Isn’t she darling! Again, super simple with the Framelits to crop her out. I used Soft Sky and Powder Pink (one of the new in colors) with a couple of Embossing Folders and added a sentiment from the same Birthday Delivery stamp set and our new Powder Pink ribbon.

This guy! Both the fox and the banner were cropped out using the Designer Series Paper and coordinating Framelits. The sentiment is stamped in Pacific Point. I layered him on an Oval to help him stand out, against the background. A little Old Olive ink below and Soft Sky above gives the look of a meadow behind him. And let’s talk about those stripes! #delish. The Old Olive ribbon helps pull all those elements together

I didn’t use the Designer Series Paper for this one as I had a clean and simple design in mind to showcase this sweet little nosegay. I stamped it 3x in Berry Burst (a new in color) and cropped it out using the coordinating Framelits. A little wash of Powder Pink was created using my Aquapainter and Powder Pink refill. The sentiment is created using 2 of the stamps from the Birthday Delivery stamp set and were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. A wrap and bow of Basic Black Baker’s Twine pull it together.

Yep, the cake is from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper and was cropped out using the Birthday Friends framelits….can we just agree how cool this is?! lots of layers of Whisper White, Real Red and Old Olive….popped up with loads of dimensionals really amp up the wow on this card. A smattering of Glimmer Dots adds to the festive feel. The sentiment is also from the Birthday Delivery stamp set and cropped using the Triple Banner Punch.
